The Keadeen Hotel was the setting for a night of nostalgic reminiscing and sharing for a group of past pupils of Newbridge College who came together to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their graduation from Newbridge College in 1984.

Newbridge College Principal & PPU Committee member Pat O’Brien welcomed the class of 1984 to Newbridge College on Saturday 27th April. After a tour around the college, the Alumni attended the Keadeen.

Well done to the Reunion Class Ambassadors who rallied the troops and made sure the evening was a great success.

All smiles at the Newbridge College Union Business Lunch at Keadeen Hotel

The 2024 Business Lunch took place in the Keadeen Hotel, yesterday Friday, January 26th and the event was very well received by those who attended.
The welcome address was delivered by MC and Past Pupil Bernard Jackman (Class 1993), and the event was opened by Union President Mark Prendergast, Newbridge College Union who welcomed everyone in attendance, thanked the Union Committee, sponsors, and the guest speakers on the panel whilst highlighting the importance of the event, supporting the Union and keeping the Alumni community together.
During the lunch, Bernard Jackman interviewed past pupil James Tracy (Class 2010), former Ireland and Leinster player. His second interview was with Sonia Deasy (Class 1993) CEO of Pestle & Mortar. All three past pupils on the Q&A Panel were presented with a Distinguished Alumni Award within their field.
In closing of the event, Mark Prendergast thanked the management and staff at the Keadeen Hotel and the Union committee for making the event such a success.
The proceeds from the event will go to the Union Benevolent Fund and a donation to the Union’s chosen charity Tiglin.

Annual Past Pupil Union Remembrance Mass - November 2023 

The Annual Past Pupil Union Remembrance Mass took place on Friday 10th Nov 2023 and was dedicated to honouring the lives of those of the Newbridge College community.

The remembrance Mass was celebrated by the former Prior Fr Joe Dineen,  and was streamed live online to families past and present, and friends of the College.

Newbridge College Union President, Mark Prendergast spoke after the mass and then followed with refreshments at Newbridge College.

The union would like to thank music teacher Margaret Byrne and all the talented students who performed the beautiful music and the students, past pupils and teachers involved with the gifts, prayers of the faithful and readings for this Mass. Thanks to the former Prior Joe Dineen travelling from Dublin to celebrate the memory of past pupils, staff, parents &family members within the school community.

We hope this annual remembrance mass brings comfort to those remembering loved ones.

🕯 In Memoriam - Every November, the PPU Union celebrates a special Mass to remember deceased alumni and members of the Newbridge Community , we try our best to recognise the passing of Alumni and we like to send a special letter to classmates to share the news. Newbridge College Alumni - Celebrate 35 Year Reunion (Class 1988) 

The Class of 1988 - 35 Year Reunion took place in Bantry Cork at the weekend. The reunion was organized by David Doyle (Boston) –23 of the group joined for a great weekend in Dede Custom House Baltimore (Shane Menton past pupil Class 1988 is the owner of Dede two-star Michelin restaurant) and West Lodge Hotel and Leisure Centre.

Newbridge College Alumni - Celebrate 30 Year Reunion (Class 1993) 

The Newbridge College Class of 1993 held its 30 Year Reunion in Kavanaghs in Naas last Saturday 16th Sept , 2023.

Newbridge College Union Golf Classic Competition - Palmerstown Golf Club 2023

Newbridge College Union held its annual golf classic at Palmerstown Golf Club recently. Blessed with beautiful weather, a spectacular course, and fabulous surroundings in Palmerstown House Estate the event was very well attended.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day at Palmerstown for the Newbridge College Union Golf Classic organised by the PPU and Golf Alumni Organiser Michael Morrissey - CEO Magnet Medical and main Sponsor of this year’s event. There were some brilliant prizes up for grabs and welcome packs on arrival for all who attended the event.

60-year school reunion for former Newbridge College students

The Keadeen Hotel was the setting for a night of nostalgic reminiscing and sharing for a group of past pupils of Newbridge College who came together to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their graduation from Newbridge College in 1963.

Newbridge College Union President Rossa O’Donnell & Newbridge College Principal Pat O’Brien welcomed the class of 1963 to Newbridge College and thanked Class Ambassador David De Lacy for organizing the reunion.

A blessing from Fr. Anthony Kavanagh O.P., Chaplain took place in St Eustace Church– Newbridge College and he remembered alumni who could not be here and those who have departed.

After a tour around the college the alumni were treated to refreshments at the college. Some classmates who could not attend the school tour joined the group at the Keadeen for an evening dinner with classmates.

Annual Careers Expo 2023 in Conjunction with Newbridge College Past Pupils

The Newbridge College Careers Expo for 5th Year Students took place recently – in conjunction with Newbridge College Union. We are incredibly grateful to the members of our Past Pupil Union who gave up their time to pass on their career advice to the students.

Our past pupils represented a wide range of careers from Business, Finance, Hospitality, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational & Speech & Language Therapists, Computing/IT, Science, Physio & Sports Science, Veterinary, Law, Education, Construction, Trade, Engineering, Architecture & Property, Marketing, Arts & Media and more.

We are looking forward to next year’s career event already!

Annual Past Pupils versus Current Pupils Hockey and Rugby 7’S Tournament!

On the 23rd of April, the Current Pupils versus Past Pupils Hockey and Rugby 7’S matches took place in the school, a collaboration with the school and past pupils union.

In what was a close hard-fought hockey game the past pupils came out victorious with a 2-1 win and it was a great win for the current pupils (SCT) who won the rugby 47-32.

A big thanks to all who took part or turned up, we hope you enjoyed the afternoon and refreshments and look forward to welcoming many of you again next year for 2024’s rematches!

Newbridge College 10 Year Reunion (Class 2013)

The Newbridge College Class of 2013 held its 10 Year Reunion in the Court Hotel in Naas last Saturday 20 May 2023.

PAST PUPIL - SCHOOL VISIT - JOHN MONAHAN (1965) - JANUARY 2023 

The past pupil union welcomed John Monahan (1965) to the school this week.
John met with principal Pat O'Brien, science teachers Dermot Walsh & Annemarie Davis, and students. He spoke about his time at the college and his career and answered questions from students interested in careers in science. John was The first-ever winner of the Young Scientist Exhibition from Newbridge College, Co. Kildare (1965). He picked up the top prize for his project, which was an explanation of the process of digestion in the human stomach. His display included flasks and tubing to show how the whole thing worked.
Past pupil union committee member Gus Kavanagh presented John with a historic school tie and annual from the 1965 year along with 1965 past pupils John Delaney and Pat Dunny.


PAST PUPIL SCHOOL VISIT - AUBREY MCCARTHY ( CLASS 1988) - OCTOBER 2022

Always great to reconnect past pupils back to the school. It was wonderful to welcome Aubrey Mc Carthy (Past Pupil Class 1988) to Newbridge College yesterday. Aubrey met with the Transition Year Politics and Society Students to give them a sense of his work and impact. Thank you for visiting Aubrey.

The past pupil union Remembrance Mass took place on Friday 11th Nov 2022 and was dedicated to honouring the lives of those of the Newbridge College community.

APPRENTICESHIP TALK - PAST PUPIL ALAN CRIBBEN - DECEMBER 2022

A HUGE  thank you to past pupil Alan Cribben (Class 1996) who came in to speak at the Apprenticeship information evening on Wednesday 30th November along with 2 speakers from KWETB (Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board).

Alan runs his own electrical business Alan Cribben Electrical and spoke about his experience with the apprenticeship training system.

PAST PUPILS - VISIT 6TH YEAR STUDENTS - SEPTEMBER 2022

Newbridge College Past pupils met with Yvonne Carey 6th year Dean and the current 6th-year Leaving Cert Students recently.
During the visit, the past pupils chatted to groups of 6th years about how best they managed themselves, their time, study and homework in the challenging Leaving Certificate. It was wonderful for the students to have a chat and get advice from past pupils. We are really grateful for their time and effort in coming back to the school.

ALUMNI GOLF PERPETUAL CUP JULY 2022 PALMERSTON, KILDARE

The Newbridge College Union Alumni Golf Classic took place at Palmerstown Golf Club last week - Thursday, 7th July 2022.

It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with alumni and a great day out on a super golf course.

We would like to thank past pupil (class 1986) Michael Morrissey (Magnet Medical) for sponsorship and his dedication to assisting with the organization for this event... it was a great day!!

Congratulations to the winners. Well done and thank you to everyone who supported and took part in the Competition.

PAST PUPIL CAREERS EXPO MAY 2022

Newbridge College Careers Expo for 5th Year Students took place today – in conjunction with Newbridge College Union.

We are incredibly grateful to the members of our Past Pupil network who gave up their time today to pass on their career advice to the students.

Our past pupils represented a wide range of careers from Business, Medicine, IT , Science, Veterinary, Law, Education, Engineering, Architecture, Arts & Media and more.

There were over 30 past pupils speaking at the event to students from the UK, Boston, California, Dubai, Luxembourg and various parts of Ireland via Zoom along with past pupils who came to the school to speak with the students.

PAST PUPIL VISIT - MARCH 2022

A huge THANK YOU to Past pupil Dave Ferguson who visited Newbridge College today for a talk with Transition Year Students.
Dave gave an insight into his 41-day expedition rowing the Atlantic Ocean to the students ... including lessons learned from this extreme challenge, coping mechanisms and the motivation to give everything to finally reach the finish line.
It was also a trip down memory lane for his Mum Hilda who came to the school today, Hilda previously worked in the admin office at Newbridge College.
